This beautiful 1953 Ford F100 returned to Schwanke Engines to bring an older chassis build across the finish line and finally get it back on the road. With the body and paint work completed by a third-party shop, the truck came back to us for body installation, wiring, drivetrain, exhaust, and final mechanical assembly, turning the project into a finished, road-ready truck.
Under the hood is a 5.3L Street Performance engine producing 385 HP, upgraded with a custom hydraulic roller camshaft and paired with a 4L60E transmission with a 2800 street stall torque converter. A Mustang II IFS with QA1 coil-overs, upgraded disc brakes, and a rebuilt Ford 8.8" rear end provide modern performance and drivability while keeping the classic F100 character.
Finishing touches include Vintage Air, American Racing chrome wheels, and a custom 7-board wood bed. With our portion of the build complete, the truck will receive its final interior upholstery from a third-party shop.
